The Associate Director, Medical Information Scientific Engagement (MISE) is responsible for leading a team of highly skilled healthcare professionals who are experts in providing accurate, timely, balanced and up-to-date medical and scientific information to healthcare professionals (HCPs), patients, and healthcare decision makers across all Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine (JJIM) products and therapeutic areas within Scientific Affairs. This individual is responsible for the organizational effectiveness, management and continuous optimization of the customer experience and engagement strategies within given therapeutic areas. The Associate Director will lead and foster a culture of customer excellence, innovation, accountability and high performance. This customer and compliance focused position ensures excellence in customer experience, management of service levels, handling of product events, continuous business processes, uninterrupted provision of services across omni-channel access to medical information support and accurate review of scientific responses. This individual is responsible for the development of all direct reports by supporting the development of Human Resources Planning (HRP) programs including management development and training to meet current and future business needs while providing an environment which encourages, values, and lives the company’s commitment to equal employment and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I).
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Provide manager review for, but not limited to, patient scientific responses and US escalation one-off responses for medical accuracy, fair balance and conciseness as scientific and therapeutic area subject matter experts.
+ Participate in scientific training for all products within assigned therapeutic areas for scientific efficiency to conduct manager review.
+ Ensure medical writing authoring training and skillset development for all team members.
+ Oversee the generation of MISE Voice of Customer (VOC) and Insight activities. Ensure staff is fully trained and proficient in staffing Medical Information booths at congresses and development of VOC insights.
+ Participate in Medical Information Booth support activities within assigned therapeutic area.
+ Lead a team of MISE Senior Therapeutic Specialists and Managers ensuring that processes are consistently followed in accordance to department standards. Foster a culture of customer excellence, innovation and high performance.
+ Monitor workforce schedule and activities to ensure optional coverage within business hours. · Provide scientific support to internal Scientific/Medical Affairs and Commercial strategy working group teams.
+ Actively engage and participate in cross functional meetings, while building and maintaining strong working relationships with key partners and stakeholders across multiple sectors and functional areas.
+ Oversee all product activities within given therapeutic areas to ensure effective management by MISE. Enable organization to manage product situations, including planning for new product launches, and supporting customer/organization during urgent crisis situations. Identify potential internal/external impacts to the MISE and provides a framework for building resilience and capability for effective response.
+ Develop the competencies of direct reports by driving high performance, innovative mindsets and team. engagement while promoting a compliant culture.
+ Provide coaching and guidance to prepare and position direct reports for career advancement.
+ Recruit and hire qualified, diverse, knowledgeable, high caliber staff with a potential to develop for high performance and customer focus.
+ Collaborate with key stakeholders for quality oversight ensuring adherence to policies and standards.
+ Provide support during internal & external audits as a subject matter expert for MISE departmental processes and procedures.
+ Responsible for quality assurance (QA) of team. Ensure high level, robust medical information provided is accurate and consistent.
+ Lead and manage MISE initiatives, identify issues/solutions, develop implementation, training and communication plans to drive innovation, operational efficiency and redefining the customer experience.
+ Participate in strategic initiatives to deliver on the departmental objectives.
**Requirements:**
+ BA/BS in the Healthcare field or related field. PharmD, Physician, Registered Nurse Practitioner or Registered Nurse is required.
+ A minimum of 7-8 years experience within the Pharmaceutical or Healthcare Industries with Contact Center management/operations experience along with a combination of the following of the following is required:
+ Demonstrated success leading and managing healthcare professional staff, and developing talent
+ Strong knowledge of Medical Information customer communications center processes within pharmaceutical industry preferred
+ Exhibits customer focus with sound understanding of customer management solutions and healthcare landscape
+ Strategic thinking and planning ability and expertise working in a matrix environment with cross functional teams
+ Strong interpersonal communication skills
+ Business continuity, crisis management, or disaster recovery experience preferred
+ Up to 10% travel, mostly domestic

**The anticipated base pay range for this position is :**
$137,000-$235,750
Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees and/or eligible dependents are eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
