What is the opportunity?
Reporting to the Director, Liquidity Risk Measurement, you will be a member of the Liquidity Measurement team of RBC. You will be part of the liquidity center of expertise which is responsible for measurement and analysis of consolidated liquidity position of the RBC financial group and is critical component of the overall liquidity risk management capability of RBC. The team provides regular information to the regulators and management, analyzes trends in the balance sheet and liquidity and works with regional centers and business partners in understanding balance sheet and liquidity profile of the organization.
The role includes responsibility for timely and accurate production of regulatory and financial disclosure reports. It will also develop, maintain and enhance liquidity measurement capability including authoring and updating documentation of liquidity risk methodology to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines. This role will work with other measurement teams to improve processes, support automation and improve accuracy of measurement for liquidity reports.
What you will do?
Support and preparation of monthly/quarterly regulatory reports including disclosures on financial statements.Analyze short-term changes and long-term trends in balance sheet and liquidity position, update forecasts and projections. Liaise with internal partners to understand and explain dynamics of the liquidity metrics.Prepare analytical reports for management and other internal business partnersSupport the Director in special projects, ad-hoc analysis and presentations.Ensure that the calculation of the metric is compliant with the liquidity risk measurement governance framework. Support necessary liquidity risk measurement governance processes, provide support for management attestations and for the review of the metric by auditors and regulatorsCollaborate with team members to improve controls, enhance processes and continual support of automation effortsMaintain and author detailed documentation of the liquidity risk measurement methodology.Support the improvement of measurement accuracy for all regulatory reports (LCR, NCCF, NSFR) including data testing, to ensure this is up-to-date and in compliance with regulatory guidelinesManage relationships and provide meaningful information to business partners as requiredWhat do you need to Succeed?
Must Have
Strong understanding of bank balance sheet, products and business operationsStrong knowledge of 5 years+ experience with financial and/or regulatory reporting in financial institutionsKnowledge of risk management tools and techniques desiredConversant with Basel III and other regulatory developments related to liquidityExcellent research and problem-solving skillsCollaborative and consultative team playerSelf-starter and independentDemonstrated integrity and independent thinkingDetail-oriented, thorough and conscientiousProgramming skills in VBA Excel and/or SQL knowledgeNice to Have
