As the **Associate Director of Health Plans Operations – Medicare Sales** , you will play a pivotal role in supporting and optimizing the Medicare Sales Team. This position is responsible for overseeing training, contracting, commissions, and sales support functions. You will work closely with the field sales team and collaborate across multiple divisions within Banner Health Plans to ensure operational excellence. Your strong background in Medicare and operations will be essential as you manage day-to-day activities, contribute to strategic initiatives, and support the ongoing Salesforce build. Ideal candidates will bring experience in Medicare contracting, commissions, training, and sales support, along with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset. **This role requires residency in the state of Arizona.** This is a primarily remote position with occasional in-office meetings at the Banner Corporate Center in Phoenix, AZ. The role follows a Monday-Friday schedule during Arizona business hours, with some flexibility required—especially during the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP). POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for leading the execution of the Health Plan's operational strategies, including but not limited to member and provider material, enrollment/eligibility, vendor management, marketing, and core metrics/KPIs. This position has direct leadership accountability to ensure compliance with the Centers for Medicaid / Medicare services (CMS) and the Arizona Healthcare Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) regulations. This position serves as the primary advisor to the Health Plan's senior leadership on matters related to HP operations and is responsible for the development and implementation of standards, policies, and procedures in alignment with organizational strategic initiatives. CORE FUNCTIONS 1. Manages professional or supervisory employees. Hires, trains, conducts performance reviews, and directs the workflow of designated staff. 2. Makes decisions within approved operating plans and objectives and within functional policies and precedents. May manage budget for large and/or complex projects or programs. 3. Sets direction and resolves problems. Resolves increasingly complex customer complaints or problems. 4. Interacts primarily with direct reports, supervisor, customers, peer managers, supervisor’s peers, patients and physicians. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree or equivalent working knowledge in Marketing, Business Administration, Health Care Administration. Expert-level working knowledge of principles, practices, and operations in healthcare services and marketing as normally obtained through the completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field and a minimum of five years of progressively responsible managerial experience in designated facility, business entity or area, including a minimum of two years management level experience within a major health care organization, health system setting, or large multi-operational corporate environment in complex industries similar to healthcare, with experience in Long Term Care, Medicare or both. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS A Master’s degree is preferred. Knowledge of Illustrator, In-design, Photoshop, Adobe, Visio and or Corel or similar software is preferred.
