Join Gilead and help create possible, together. **Job Description** **Associate Director, Competitive Intelligence – Breast Cancer** , will support CI activities across one of Gilead’s core oncology priorities. CI is a key function within Gilead’s global organization and this role is a great opportunity to have broad visibility across the organization. The key focus for this role is TNBC and HR+/HER2- BC, and includes monitoring of the strategies, programs, and capabilities of competitors in research, development, and promotional areas, as well as overall industry trends. This role will report into the Global CI Lead for Oncology and will be based in Foster City or Parsippany, NJ. Within this role, you will support decision making, foster a competitive mindset, and collaborate with a broad cross-functional group of therapeutic area partners (including Commercial, Medical Affairs, Affiliates, Clinical, Research, Corporate Development, Regulatory, and Legal) as well as Senior Leadership. You will be responsible for collecting, synthesizing, and delivering key insights and implications to our business on the competitive environment, related to marketed products, pipeline assets, and external opportunities. These activities are structured around key strategic business questions that you will define in partnership with the Global CI Lead for Oncology and relevant cross-functional stakeholders. **Essential Duties and Job Functions:** + Utilizing systematic processes to gather and summarize competitive information that is relevant to the business needs of the Oncology therapeutic area. + Providing context and objective analysis of competitive (commercial, clinical, and scientific) information to enable actions and business decision-making (for both internal Gilead projects as well as assessment of potential licensing or acquisition activities). + Building and updating databases on competitor pipeline products and estimated potential launch timing. + Building and maintaining select competitor product profiles (to support market assessment of competitive Gilead projects). + Providing conference coverage and analytic support of emerging clinical and market data. + Evaluating and making recommendations on CI tools, processes, and services such as information dashboards, submission capturing and standardized reporting as requested by the head of the functional area. + Communicating key competitive information to teams and Executives throughout the organization through oral and written communication + Work on innovative programs to increase the value of Competitive Intelligence to Gilead. + Following pre-defined standards to ensure legal and ethical approaches to CI, protecting business interests and confidentiality. + In select situations, work with functional leaders in Market Research and/or Forecasting to carry out projects in these areas, and participate in the formulation of product/franchise strategies based on data and insights derived from CI, market research, and forecasting analyses. + Manage third party agencies/projects to source relevant CI **Basic Qualifications:** + 10 years of experience with Bachelors degree, 8 years of experience with Masters degree, or 6 years of experience with a PhD or PharmD **Knowledge, Experience and Skills:** + Knowledge regarding the drug development and commercialization process in order to assess and contextualize competitive efforts. + Ability to interpret and synthesize pre-clinical and clinical scientific data and identify broader implications for our programs and / or specific opportunities. + History of independence in researching, formulating, and delivering CI assessments (including basic information as well as strategic insights based on that information). + Experience in use of online data sources and scientific/market databases (e.g., PubMed, clinicaltrials.gov, TrialTrove, Evaluate Pharma , etc.) + Strong relationship management skills with internal stakeholders and external contacts and resources. + Evidence of achievement while working on cross-functional teams in a biopharmaceutical setting. + Proven ability to present at and facilitate small-group and large-group meetings (with peers as well as superiors) to achieve pre-defined objectives. + History of effective written communication skills (including both PowerPoint and Word/email mediums). + Excellent task management skills (specifically project planning, prioritization, objective setting, meeting management and plan execution) are required. The salary range for this position is: Bay Area: $195,670.00 - $253,220.00. Other US Locations: $177,905.00 - $230,230.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
