LANDSCAPE ANALYSIS – Direct primary and secondary research and insights within industry and broader environment to identify possible strategies and best practices in account management that drive provider engagement. This includes understanding Key Account and Customer trends, needs, and potential engagement opportunities, as well as leading the integration of findings with AbbVie Oncology’s Franchise leadership teams across the portfolio

Scan the industry and broader oncology environment to identify insights, growth opportunities, and best practices in account management, and leverage them in discussions with AbbVie Oncology leaders to support the development of new and innovative provider engagement strategies.Consult with internal and external partners on key industry trends and leading practices to help solve complex and emerging challenges.Develop in-depth understanding of each AbbVie Oncology franchise and underlying brand strategies and tacticsLeverage existing tools and resources to identify relevant business trends and opportunities and proactively share findings and recommendations with relevant franchise leadership teams. Develop use cases relevant to business to integrate data more fully and provide meaningful and actional insights to advance the business more quickly.Contribute to the development of the overall capability strategy and application to Organized Providers, including identification of key priorities across providers.Assess and align with internal stakeholders to ensure parallel and integrated collaborative functional engagement strategies, if applicable.Coordinate with AbbVie analytics functions to track and measure the impact of commercial capabilities.

CAPABILITY ENABLEMENT – Accountable for the overall execution and driving impact of the portfolio capabilities. Responsible for the implementation and overall execution of learnings and best practices, driving growth opportunities, proactively flagging opportunities and potential strategies to franchise leadership and demonstrating the AbbVie ‘Ways We Work’ and leadership attributes.  Running the mechanics of the business includes coordinating internal resources, managing expectations across cross-functional partners, ensuring compliance adherence, managing vendor / partner relationships in efforts to advance the overall capability, and remaining accountable to Oncology BU Leadership Team for the success the capability.

Oversee the development and adaptation of account insights across franchises, ensuring awareness of cross-functional leadership, in order to deliver the capability’s strategic vision and AbbVie Oncology’s priorities to improve customer experience, enhance patient outcomes, and deliver on identified opportunities. Provide direction and guidance on investment and resource allocation based on overall expenditures and budget, to allow for innovative, tailored, customer-centric insights and initiatives that strengthen execution and patient outcomes.Recommend strategies and solutions for account-level growth to franchise leadership and advance AbbVie’s relative position in prioritized accounts based on actionable tactics, market research and competitor analyses.

STRATEGIC PLANNING – Develop a cross-functional vision and strategy for select capabilities, set expectations across roles, establish annual KPIs and goals, and ensure achievement of annual performance goals for a variety of commercial capabilities.

Evaluate data and results against target outcomes, analyze account trends and market landscape.Formulate strategic plans aligned with Commercial functions based on mutually identified needs and the AbbVie Oncology strategy to engage in new ways with customer accounts and develop innovative approaches to meet customers’ needs optimally and compliantly.When needed, partner with cross-functional teams, including but not limited to R&D, Medical, Market Access, etc.to support relevant engagement strategiesMonitor other customer engagement initiatives across AbbVie within Oncology and/or with other functions and leverage relevant learnings into establishing the commercial approach to engaging accounts.

Key Stakeholders

The Associate Director, Commercial Capabilities is accountable to the Director, Oncology BU Capabilities, and be responsible for driving strong partnership, ways of working and alignment with HQ cross functional leads, Field Leadership Teams, and Oncology BU Leadership to drive account management excellence and drive best practices aligned to the needs of key customers and to AbbVie Oncology key priorities.


Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required, and 10+ years of relevant commercial experience across marketing, sales, and technical management.MBA or other related graduate degree is desirable.Previous experience in consulting, leading industry research, developing or using processes and tools for account management is highly desirable.Growing body of experience and mastery leveraging AI tools and automation.Knowledge and understanding of the oncology therapeutic and provider landscape, development process, and commercial operations.Ability to lead without authority, driving through execution across multiple functionally diverse stakeholders.Comfort with navigating ambiguity and the innate ability to bring organization amidst change.Strong understanding of industry legal, regulatory, and compliance landscape and ability to apply to diverse situations to keenly evaluate risk and develop appropriate risk mitigation strategies.Previous experience leading broad organizational change initiatives, standing up an organization or new model, navigating new ways of working, building positive, accountable, and highly engaged team culture.Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy and work in a complex multi-faceted environment, including exceptional strategic and business acumen skills to synthesize information from multiple sources to generate insights and identify underlying patterns and themes.Demonstrated ability to coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders, influence without authority, collectively align with stakeholders to a common vision or goal and break down boundaries to facilitate high levels of collaboration to bring the best to the AbbVie’s key accounts.Innate curiosity or drive to enhance and optimize existing strategies, solutions, and external-facing materials.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. ​
