Job Description

What is the opportunity?

The group annuity line of business is seeking a high-performance leader to support onboarding initiatives and drive business growth strategies by increasing bidding capabilities and controlling operational costs when scaling the business. The business requires a candidate who is dynamic and has strong pension expertise with project management skills.  This role will be instrumental in supporting business insights.

What will you do? 

• Apply expert knowledge of current Canadian pension legislation by leading changes to processes, contract negotiations, communication materials, and being a subject matter expert for our pricing and operations team.

• You will lead the automation initiative to scale and drive efficiency. Your ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and develop strategic recommendations will be essential in this role.

• You will contribute to extending our bidding capabilities through project management which will involve overseeing quote tasks to guarantee completion within established deadlines, facilitating joint planning with clients, and raising and tracking issues to ensure timely resolution. You will work closely with the pricing team to ensure that deliverables achieve the desired business results, enabling value creation and driving business growth.

• You will be responsible for maximizing enterprise connectivity and synergies through technology. You will explore and adopt best practices from other teams, improving the transition of information between functional teams and exploring AI solutions used within our organization. You will also seek out industry trends and organizational knowledge to understand alternative approaches and solutions, driving innovation and improvement within our team. Your ability to think strategically, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive change will be essential in this role.

• You will stay informed on market trends, analyze market and internal data and add meaningful information to increase bidding capabilities and for internal reporting to executives.

What will you need to succeed?

Must have

• Minimum 10 years of experience in pension consulting or administration experience

• Ability to read RFPs and contracts and implement applicable action items

• Work with pension consultants, plan sponsors and legal partners

• Leadership skills to engage team and communication skills to drive action

• People management experience

• A good understanding of current technologies such as Power BI, Tableau, VBA, Python and database management

Nice to have

• ASA designation or close to completion

• Strong analytical and technical skills

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities, deal with ambiguity and work under pressure
