Summary:

 

The Performance & Scalability team is the center of expertise for performance, sizing and benchmark topics across all products inside SAP. The team covers a wide range of duties, from development and provisioning of tools for sizing and benchmarking, delivering performance trainings, internal and external consulting, to performance measurements and analysis. We own the SAP Standard Application Benchmarks (www.sap.com/benchmark), a comprehensive set of tools and guidelines for sizing (https://www.sap.com/about/benchmark/sizing.html), as well as the Performance Product Standard. We also foster, support and drive efforts that are relevant for SAP's sustainability journey.

As a (Associate) Developer in SAP’s Performance & Scalability team, you’ll be part of a group that ensures our products run fast, handle growth, and stay sustainable. You’ll work on real projects that help our customers succeed—especially in the area of system sizing, where we figure out how much computing power is needed to keep everything running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

Build & Improve Tools: Help design, enhance, and maintain our sizing tools so they’re accurate, efficient, and easy to use Analyze & Model Data: Work on real business scenarios to gather data and help create mathematical models for sizing calculations Collaborate & Learn: Partner with senior developers, product managers, and other experts to solve problems and deliver solutions Grow Your Skills: Learn the most successful SAP technologies, which are used by thousands of customers, and best practices in performance and scalability engineering

Required skills:

Programming Experience:  Object oriented programming with modern frameworks (like Node.js, different JavaScript frameworks, Java, Python…) Motivation to learn ABAP programming and debugging techniques Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of hardware and IT technologies Problem-Solving & Communication: Strong analytical thinking, creative problem-solving skills, and the ability to clearly explain ideas when working with diverse teams, while also demonstrating the capacity to work independently, take initiative, and drive tasks to completion with minimal supervision Technical Curiosity: Passion for tackling complex business problems and translating requirements into mathematical models for sizing calculations Education: Bachelor’s or higher degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field Languages: Proficiency in both English and German, spoken and written
