Associate Data Scientist, Pipeline Stats Reporting
As an Associate Data Scientist, you will deliver analyses and reports to all pipelines, regions, and crops in Global Plant Breeding. You’ll work collaboratively with interdisciplinary scientists, IT and engineering professionals across the organization to solve critical problems and answer important questions that drive key decisions for our business. As an individual contributor on a team with other Data Scientists, you will also leverage statistical expertise and new game changing ideas to deliver critical statistical analyses and pipeline reports.
This is a Chesterfield, MO-based position.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role are to:
Provide technical contributions in a fast-paced team environment to accelerate our efforts on building an analytics-driven product pipeline
Use advanced mathematical models, machine learning algorithms, AI, cloud-based infrastructure, and strong business acumen to deliver insights, recommendations, reports, and solutions
Develop sustainable, consumable, accurate, and impactful reporting on pipeline performance, model inputs, model outputs, observed outputs, business impact, and key performance indicators. Forming partnerships with cross functional teams in the company, including internal R&D, engineering and IT teams
Present compelling, validated stories to all levels of organization, including peers, senior management, and internal customers to drive both strategic and operational changes in business.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in relevant technical field with 2+ years of experience
Educational preparation or applied experience in at least one of the following areas: Machine Learning, Electrical/Industrial Engineering, Operation Research, Statistical Genetics, Statistics, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Genomics, Computational Biology, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or other related quantitative discipline
Proficiency in statistical analyses, especially as related to plant breeding experimental design and product pipeline performance metrics
Demonstrates basic computational skills and level of experience using R, Python, SAS or other statistical and/or mathematical programming packages
Entry level proficiency in predictive modeling and AI—to include comprehension of theory, modeling/identification strategies and limitations and pitfalls
Entry level proficiency in machine learning algorithms and concepts.
Preferred:
Master’s degree in relevant technical field
Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately $85k-125k. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive program (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc..
