As a Associate Control Manager in the Client Onboarding and Documentation team, you will be responsible for ensuring the Wholesale KYC Operations and Digital Document Services business has a sustainable and disciplined end-to-end control environment, identifying and escalating issues with a sense of urgency and partnering with the business to ensure issues are remediated in a timely manner. The team assists in top-down risk analysis, real-time control issue detection, escalation, root cause analysis, remediation and sustainability testing.
Job responsibilities
Develop and maintain solid knowledge of Client Onboarding & Documentation (CO&D) policies, procedures, and operating model as well as systems/platforms used to carry out these activitiesPartner with stakeholders to evaluate and perform an end-to-end analysis of the business’ risk and control environment to identify significant gaps and weaknesses and determine root cause of control breaksEnsure that controls are properly designed, operating effectively, and essential to a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocolsPerform ongoing analysis of program related data (e.g., KRI/KPI) and develop ad-hoc reports as requested to support business-related programs and strategiesAssist with development of Risk & Control Self-Assessment mapping and documentations through participation in end-to-end process walkthroughs and deep dives with assigned business unitsComplete the review and mapping of applicable legal obligations to CO&D proceduresReview and provide impact / adherence assessments to Regulatory Event Notices and Non-CIB Policies, Procedures and StandardsRespond and resolve items identified by QA and audit processesEnsure the process and control tagging evergreen as the underlying control framework and population of associated legal obligations evolveDevelop and deploy subject matter expertise of local business activities, applicability of rules and regulations, and the local legal and regulatory frameworkRepresent CO&D in working groups and other meetings for OLO / REN requirementsRequired qualifications, capabilities and skills
Experience in financial services industry with background in controls, audit, quality assurance, operational risk management, or compliance, or equivalent subject matter expertise in a relevant business related function/operationDemonstrate strong AML/KYC knowledge; a good understanding of the onboarding/KYC lifecycleRisk management, Operations, or Internal control evaluation experienceGood knowledge of control design and root cause analysisEffective executive summarization of complex business problems and solutionsGood knowledge of control design and root cause analysisStrong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to influence business leaders in a meaningful and actionable mannerSolid critical thinking, attention to detail and analytical skills; ability to synthesize large amounts of data and formulate appropriate conclusionsExcellent project management skills and ability to instil structure, process and accountability is essentialExcellent interpersonal skills, comfort with working and partnering with people at all levels and across all functional areas.
