Associate Category Manager
The Associate Category Manager position is responsible for supporting and working with the Global Procurement category teams to manage, review and negotiate Contracts including MSAs, SOWs and Order Forms in conjunction with various RELX and BU Attorneys. The Associate Category Manager will manage a group of Suppliers including collection of spend and performance data from suppliers, review and categorize spend data, initiate and manage business reviews, and deliver reports and dashboards using Tableau, Power BI, Oracle, and supplier data including updates to annual Strategy and Budget decks. The Associate Category Manager will review the Spend data and work with Category Leads or Directors to ensure accurate classification of suppliers and spend amounts and perform change requests when necessary. They will manage and coordinate PR/PO approvals with Category Leads or Directors. This role will work on the managed program invoice coordination and overall coordination of managed programs. The Associate Category Manager will manage annual supplier rebates, including running reports, communicating with suppliers to validate spend and rebate amounts, liaising with business stakeholders regarding payment, ensuring collection from suppliers, and reporting and workflow routing in procurement tools as applicable. This role will be involved in contract management, including but not limited to, running regular contract expiration report for Category Leads, uploading contracts to the online repository, and routing agreements for electronic signature. Other areas of the role will include the management, coordination and delivery of sourcing and special projects aligned to procurement and supplier management priorities. These projects may vary in scope but typically require cross functional collaboration, working closely with the Directors and Category Leads and will help ensure that supplier performance is assessed consistently to support continuous improvement & in line with organization goals. i.e sustainability and price protection Accountabilities: Systems and Tools. Ensures that all relevant processes, software, systems, and tools are used effectively, and that relevant projects are supported with the appropriate level of detailed analysis, data modeling, and trending. Current tools include eSourcing (eRFx's and eAuctions), Contract Management, Supplier Management, DocuSign, ProPipeline (project reporting and tracking), Zip, and others as determined by Global Procurement management. Management of and coordination with Category Leads for PR/PO reviews and approvals. Co-manage Category team shared mailbox, supplier spend investigation, and manage/organize TEAMS channels for Category Teams. Process Improvements. Participates in the on-going improvement and cost effectiveness of procurement service delivery by complying with all internal procurement systems and process improvements and monitoring best practices. Participates in re-engineering efforts to improve business practices. Supports analysis on work processes and procedures and recommends changes to improve the effectiveness of the organization. Creates an environment of continuous improvement. Training and Communication. Communicates best procurement practices and policies and provides communication and training to category teams on data analysis, techniques for data visualization, and trending. Is well-versed in purchasing and invoicing processes across divisions and educates and assists the Category Leads and their stakeholders. Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree.
