4 Year Degree Shape the future of sports nutrition at South Dakota State University (SDSU)! We're thrilled to announce a brand-new opportunity to join our athletics team as the Associate Athletic Director of Kvistad Sports Nutrition. This pivotal role will be at the forefront of developing and implementing innovative strategies to optimize the health and performance of our student-athletes. This position is located in Brookings, South Dakota and is a 12-month, full-time, benefits-eligible position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: •Develop and oversee sports nutrition programs to enhance student-athlete health and performance. •Provide nutrition education, resources, and individualized assessments. •Collaborate with healthcare teams and stakeholders to support a holistic student-athlete experience. •Address eating disorders and ensure compliance with nutritional standards. •Lead professional development for coaches and staff while driving innovation in nutrition services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Nutrition Science, Health/Exercise Science, Dietetics or related field completed by start date; Minimum 1 year experience in the field of nutrition and/or dietetics; Registered Dietitian Nutritionist by the Commission on Dietetic Registration with an active status through the Commission on Dietetic Registration; Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; Ability to communicate effectively with student-athletes, coaches, athletic administration, stakeholders, and vendors regarding nutrition, research and on-going situations or scenarios; and Adapt to a flexible work schedule with early morning, night or weekend availability.

  PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree; Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics; Experience with sports nutrition; Experience working within a collegiate sport setting; and Understanding and knowledge of nutritional and herbal supplements to determine if permissible under NCAA regulations.
