What is the opportunity?
We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate/Assistant Manager to join the Technical Trust - Tax team based in Jersey. You will take responsibility of a mixed portfolio of offshore trusts and companies and will handle all aspects of tax reporting for the portfolio, including the preparation and submission of tax returns, preparation of relevant income computations and all related compliance matters.
What will you do?
Undertake compliance work on a mixed portfolio of clients.
Correspondence with clients and third-party advisers.
Monitor day to day work to ensure all deadlines are met.
Deal with tax related enquiries from in-house departments, HMRC and third parties.
Monitor work in progress to ensure deadlines are met.
Provide support to members of the department on projects or other support work when requested.
Deal with ad-hoc administration and reporting as required.
Contribute to overall effectiveness of department by interaction / communication with colleagues.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Excellent organisational skills including good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
Excellent telephone manner for both internal and external calls.
Willing to undertake tax profession qualifications (ATT/CTA) if not already started.
Nice-to-have
Experience of working in a tax group and dealing with tax compliance matters – full training will be provided.
Existing knowledge of RBC Culture & Values.
