Who You Are:

You are a highly experienced and strategic Systems Architect with a minimum of 12 years in designing and managing enterprise-grade Linux and Unix environments. You bring deep expertise in SLES, Red Hat, and AIX platforms, both on-prem and in the cloud, with a strong foundation in performance optimization, automation, security hardening, and identity management. You are passionate about designing resilient infrastructure, driving projects independently from conception to implementation, and constantly aligning technology with business goals. With a solid background in scripting, automation, and security, you thrive in complex environments and are skilled at collaborating across technical teams to deliver scalable and secure solutions.

Responsibilities:System Design and Architecture

Design and implement robust systems and architectures for SLES, Red Hat, and AIX platforms in both on-premise and cloud environments.

Evaluate and recommend hardware and software solutions to meet performance, scalability, and compliance needs.

Lead project demands independently from requirements gathering through to successful delivery.

Develop and maintain architectural documents such as High-Level Design (HLD), Low-Level Design (LLD), Implementation Guides, and Operations Manuals.

Define datacenter consolidation strategies and long-term technology roadmaps aligned with market standards and business objectives.

Infrastructure Management

Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot complex SLES, Red Hat, CentOS, and AIX environments.

Implement high availability and parallel file system solutions such as Pacemaker, IBM Spectrum Scale (GPFS), and Lustre.

Ensure systems are secured following industry best practices and CIS benchmarks.

Tune systems for optimal OS performance and ensure consistent availability.

Manage cloud-based IaaS deployments on platforms like AWS and GCP.

Provide deep insight into virtualization platforms and physical hardware configurations.

Performance Optimization

Monitor systems and analyze historical performance data to guide capacity planning.

Work with application and infrastructure teams to ensure optimal performance across environments.

Audit and Vulnerability Management

Perform regular audits to maintain compliance with internal and external security standards.

Lead vulnerability assessments and implement remediation plans to address system risks.

Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution

Provide expert-level support and resolve critical incidents involving SLES, Red Hat, and AIX systems.

Conduct thorough root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.

Scripting and Automation

Automate system tasks using Shell, Python, or equivalent scripting languages.

Utilize configuration management tools such as Ansible or SaltStack.

Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and orchestration tools like StackStorm and VMware Orchestrator.

Identity and Access Management

Apply the principle of least privilege across Linux/Unix environments.

Integrate systems with Active Directory and manage access using Centrify solutions.

Ensure secure authentication, authorization, and audit mechanisms.

Collaboration and Documentation

Partner with cross-functional IT teams to ensure smooth integration and operation of Linux/Unix systems.

Create detailed documentation of system configurations, operational procedures, and design artifacts.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

12+ years of hands-on experience as a Systems Architect or similar role in enterprise environments.

Expert-level knowledge of SLES, Red Hat, and AIX operating systems.

Proficient in managing both on-premise and cloud-based infrastructures (AWS, GCP).

Strong scripting skills in Shell, Python, or equivalent.

Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, SaltStack).

Familiarity with event-driven automation tools such as StackStorm.

Deep expertise in Centrify and Active Directory integration.

Strong understanding of networking, security, and system hardening principles.

Demonstrated experience in system audits, vulnerability assessments, and compliance processes.

Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
