Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC seeks an Associate, Portfolio Specialist in New York, NY
Responsible for servicing existing clients and driving commercialization of the institutional US multi-sector. Serve as a technically versed extension of the investment team and liaise between the team, Sales and their clients, consultants, and other parts of the organization. Proactively engage with Sales, Consultant Relations, and Marketing to keep clients informed and help raise net new cash. Work alongside the investment teams to understand the Investment outlook end investment rationale behind Portfolio positioning, and communicate investment outlook to clients. Represent the investment team with current and prospective clients. Produce high quality written communication material for use by internal and external constituents. Produce presentation and marketing material for use in client reviews and pitches. Develop and maintain credible, compelling, and timely product communications. Partner with Sales during meetings with existing and prospective clients. Identify important messages to present a simple and effective global narrative, working with all fixed income investment teams.
Salary: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $135,000 and $140,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
Requirements:
Requires a Master’s degree in Journalism, Marketing, or a related field of study and two (2) years of experience in the position offered or two (2) years as a Digital Marketing Specialist, WM Corporate Services Marketing, or a closely related occupation. Requires two (2) year of experience with: strategic planning of marketing campaigns including defining campaign objectives, target audience, and campaign design; data analysis for marketing campaigns; working with stakeholders on building campaign roadmap to support business metrics and product roadmap; savings, checking, lending, and certificate deposits products; FINRA compliance rules, MSRB regulations, and FDIC policies; Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe, and JIRA.
