Job Description

As an Associate in Structured Finance, Finance & Capital Markets, you will be responsible for developing and updating project financial models and supporting  Project development, financing and/or M&A transaction closings/fundings, You will work closely with other teams within in Invenergy (across our global regional offices and our Headquarters in Chicago), including Development, Construction, Asset Management, Financial Planning & Analysis, Operations, Engineering, and Legal as well as external stakeholders including project lenders, partners. This position is located at our Mexico City, regional office.

Responsibilities

Perform financial modeling and valuation in support of financial project viability, project finance and M&A transactionsEvaluating project financing structures and analyzing alternative approachesPrepare Investment Committee presentations for internal approvals; Lender and Investor presentations (teasers, One Pagers, CIMs, etc) for debt and equity raisingSupport project finance activities during development, construction, term conversion, equity funding, and operationsAssist in due diligence efforts (internally and externally) for project finance, corporate finance and merger & acquisition transactionsInteracting with external financing parties and/or partners in their due diligence process and understanding of our projects Supporting financing documentation and closings for construction financings, term conversions or any refinancing initiativesSupport in the preparation of deliverables to lenders and/or equity partnersInterpret terms in construction, operation, finance, offtake, shareholder and partnership agreements real estate documents, and other contracts to validate proper modelling and highlight transaction risks that may impact project level and corporate financingDevelop and maintain relationships with strategic counterparties within the company such as: engineers, developers, accounting, tax, legal, etc. professionals as well as third party consultants when managing assigned transactionsSupport corporate finance activities with internal teams

Required Skills

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or engineering with additional studies in finance/business or associated work experienceMinimum 3 years of experience in infrastructure investment finance  Power sector experience is a plusDemonstrated ability to develop complex financing models in ExcelExcellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to concisely present information to senior management and third parties on complex financial transactionsStrong proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, PowerPoint and WordFamiliarity in reading and interpreting financing and project agreementsStrong interpersonal skills with the desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and to meet deadlines and complete time-sensitive dutiesAbility to learn quickly and work under limited supervisionExceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skillsFluent in both Spanish and English

Preferred Skills

Experience with project or corporate finance debt or equity transactions, as well as M&A opportunities in power generation or energy/utilities sector
