ROLE SUMMARY

Enabling all manner of digital infrastructure and cloud development capabilities, these services and products permeate across Pfizer influencing business outcomes and providing value to our business, shareholders, and patients every day.

The AWS Solution Engineer must be able operate independently with the ability to influence and coalesce with solution teams across the organization to help deliver engineering solutions to meet Pfizer’s business objectives. 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES 

The AWS Solution Engineering role provides technical and design experience and will be key in ensuring Pfizer continues to leverage cloud native design patterns aligned with the organizations ability to modernize new and existing projects.  The role will help ensure the Cloud Engineering team continues to deliver a secure, compliant, productive, and innovative cloud hosting environment. 

The role will bring experience in designing AWS cloud solutions and implementing infrastructure as code capabilities. This role will deeply influence how Pfizer Digital consumes and utilizes AWS hosting technologies in support of all business lines on a global scale and will be critical to the development and modernization of AWS cloud capabilities. 

The ideal candidate will have demonstratable experience in working within an AWS infrastructure environment along with developing solutions using infrastructure as code.

Responsibilities include:

Work in a cross functional, global engineering and service development team while creating internal engineering and development standards.Knowledge of basic AWS cloud services.Assist team in influencing how our business consumes AWS cloud technologies with a bias towards repeatable infrastructure as code principles.Participate in designing modern cloud patterns Collaborate with cloud engineers, developers, and product teams to build native cloud capabilities for Pfizer.Assist in continuous improvement initiatives.

 BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, with experience utilizing cloud technologies.<2 years of cloud-specific experience with Amazon Web Services or Microsoft AzureCandidates must be highly motivated and capable of working independently. Strong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environmentAbility to adapt to changing requirements and constraintsAbility to use creative thinking and advanced problem-solving skillsStrong communication and presentation skillsWorking knowledge of Atlassian Confluence and Jira is desired.
 

Nice-to-Have

Demonstratable experience working in a DevOps environment with expert level knowledge in building, maintaining, and deploying infrastructure as code solutions.Experience building infrastructure as code capabilities using Terraform; configuration management experience using Ansible.Cross functional experience in managing cloud infrastructure, security, networking, and application development.
