Job DescriptionThe Identity and Access Management (IAM) team is responsible for securing employee access to our core applications in the most efficient, compliant, and user-friendly manner, leveraging the latest industry standards and tools.
Visa's IAM eco-system includes a highly customized, feature-rich Identity Management platform. The team has successfully implemented many core components, and as the security landscape evolves, we continuously explore new processes and technology to expand security coverage and enhance the end-user experience.
With new features and broader coverage comes increased complexity, criticality, and dependency on the environment.
We are seeking a motivated Cybersecurity professional – whether an aspiring IAM Specialist or an experienced IAM Engineer with development background - to join our Global team of IAM experts. In this role, you will contribute to the ongoing development, operations and support of our IAM environment while collaborating with IT teams and Cybersecurity stakeholders across Visa.

Essential Functions
The Associate Cybersecurity Engineer will:
Take ownership of assigned initiatives—assessing existing solutions, eliciting and refining requirements, and contributing to technical design discussions to promote best-practice architectures.
Design, develop, and implement new capabilities using appropriate technologies and tools, following Scrum/Agile methodologies to meet project milestones and deliverables.
Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities, execute disaster-recovery protocols, and maintain high solution availability in accordance with SLAs.
Apply Generative AI capabilities to:
Automate log analysis and detect anomalies in access events
Generate and optimize system code for performance and security
Create AI-assisted documentation and troubleshooting guides for faster onboarding and support
Enable natural language interfaces for administrative tooling to simplify complex operational tasks
Collaborate with global service teams to capture business needs and ensure alignment with agreed design strategies.
Partner with Platform and Quality Assurance teams throughout the implementation life cycle to enable efficient, timely rollouts.
Coordinate with team leads and international colleagues to keep projects on schedule and achieve defined business objectives.
Remain self-driven and eager to learn the IAM technology stack, adapting quickly to new tools and approaches.
Champion the use of data-science and AI techniques to innovate, automate, and streamline processes, reducing manual effort for end users.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree OR 3+ years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
•2 or more years of work experience.
•2+ years of hands-on programming experience in C, Python, Java and/or Go, solid computer-science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and operating system concepts.
•Strong Linux ecosystem knowledge (e.g., Red Hat) and experience with bash scripting.
•Familiarity with privileged access management concepts (e.g., sudo, role-based access control).
•Exposure to AI/ML techniques and GenAI-assisted development platforms (e.g., GitHub Copilot, OpenAI models), with an interest in applying AI to code generation, log analysis, anomaly detection, and security automation.
•Understanding of security principles, including zero trust architecture and system hardening.
•Familiarity with web-service technologies (SOAP/REST), JavaScript frameworks, and SQL/relational databases.
•Experience troubleshooting applications and services in complex, distributed network environments, strong analytical skills for diagnosing and resolving multifaceted technical issues.
•Working knowledge of Agile delivery, DevOps practices, test automation, experience with tools such as Jira, Git/GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and Linux-based monitoring/logging solutions (e.g., Splunk).
•Demonstrated aptitude for quickly learning new programming languages, security tools, and infrastructure technologies, with a keen interest in emerging fields such as AI, ML, and cybersecurity automation.
