What You Can Expect
The Associate Product Development Engineer works on design and development projects/matters with direction from senior engineering staff. This entry level position participates on and contributes to meaningful projects that focus on design and development of medical devices while building the skills of the incumbent. This position is for Paragon 28, a Zimmer Biomet company located in Englewood, Colorado.
How You'll Create ImpactEssential Responsibilities and Duties
Participate in product development from ideation to commercialization through entire product life cycle with guidance from senior engineering staff including:Research and evaluate competitive product for performance characteristicsParticipate in conceptualizing new design ideasAssist with creating design control documentation for P28 design history files & technical filesAssist in development of testing protocols and assist in the testing process for new and existing productsParticipate in activities related to project phase gate design reviewsAssist with 3rd party suppliers, contractors, testing houses, etc.Develop SolidWorks skillset for parametric modeling and detailing designs of P28 implants and instrumentsAssist in inspection of current and newly developed medical devicesObserve surgery (live, cadaver, or video) on lower extremity pathology. Document all notes.Other duties as directed by managerWork Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and copy machines. Occasional use of the development and quality labs necessary, adhering to all lab safety requirements. This position will work with cadaveric specimens.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with typical business hours. It may reasonably require additional hours during the week and weekend; specific requirements will be determined with Manager.
Your Background Requires a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related engineering discipline with 0-3 years of experience.Prior experience in medical device development helpful.Familiarity with CAD. SolidWorks preferred.Proficiency in MS OfficeEffective communication and presentation skills with ability to convey information and respond to questions from groups of peersAbility to work in a team environmentTravel Expectations10% of overnight travel.
Compensation DataSalary Range: $67,000 - $77,500 USD annually
