The **Associate Director, Oncology Market Research IID&D** will assume a key contributor role responsible for leading a multitude of market research, primarily focused on consumer and direct to patient (DTP) related activities aimed at ensuring the US commercial organization and the external marketplace are ready to capitalize on these important indications and growth opportunities. This position is also essential to the success of this growing business unit for Gilead. HCP market research may also be in scope for this role. **Role Summary** + Working with key stakeholders, plays a key role in planning, development and execution of market research plan supporting Oncology products and ensure strategically aligned and coordinated efforts. + Manages Oncology patient market research studies, including project objective, design, vendor selection and oversight, monitoring of data collection, data analysis and interpretation + Develops relevant and compelling presentation of market research insights for key stakeholders, including brand leadership and senior management + Present insights to key internal stakeholders, including Senior Management. Ability to tailor communications to maximize influence + Working with diverse counterparts (Sales Analytics, Forecasting, Commercial Learning and Development, Managed Markets, Brand team), compiles and analyzes statistical data on past sales and trends to interpret market trends and, as appropriate, recommend corrective courses of action + Keeps abreast of key market events and works to understand potential impact **Key Responsibilities and Skills** + Strong strategic thinker who understands the critical role of market research in developing commercial strategy in support of both in-line products and product launch. Ability to operate in ambiguous situations and determine focused objectives and a clear path forward in the face of open questions + Demonstrates an ability to **influence change and mediate** **sensitive issues** with the most senior members of the management team. + Demonstrates an **ability to identify and address opportunities** that will **improve the contribution** of the Market Research to the customer (new + Demonstrate an ability to **make strategic organizational decisions** while accounting for both short and long-term risks and impact + Demonstrates an ability to **develop and advance capabilities** of the Market Research Team (i.e. Social Listening, creating framework for AEs) + Understanding of the US Oncology marketplace and key considerations of the DTP/DTC environment in solid and heme tumors. Specific understanding of breast cancer is desired but not required. + Strong understanding of patient approaches for personal and non-personal promotion across the targeted Oncology populations and marketing and channel mix, including print, digital, social media, and CRM. + Strong understanding of novel approaches and methodologies for conducting Oncology patient research. Experience with DTC media market research is a plus. + Strong data analytical and interpretive skills. The ability to meaningfully portray and effectively communicate complex quantitative data in an easy-to-understand format is required. + Positive attitude and solutions-oriented approach. Creative problem solving. Open to new learnings and flexible in changing situations + Strong interpersonal skills with ability to lead, interact with, influence others, focus, resolve conflict and drive consensus among individuals from a variety of cultures and disciplines. Ability to work with a variety of personalities and skillsets + Strong communication and presentation skills with an ability to efficiently and productively communicate both orally and in writing both to peers and senior management are required + In-depth experience designing and conducting quantitative and qualitative primary market research. Demonstrated ability to ramp quickly and acquire in-depth knowledge and experience in multiple therapeutic areas + Proven experience with US Sales and Marketing organizations and experience with pharmaceutical data sources e.g., IQVIA, Verilogue, Kantar + Excellent project management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines in an environment of competing and changing priorities. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
