Java Developer - Associate - Software Engineering

Profile Description

We’re seeking for a  Java developer, you'll be involved in detailed technical design, development and implementation of applications using emerging technology choices.

WM_Technology

Wealth Management Technology is responsible for the design, development, delivery, and support of the technical solutions behind the products and services used by the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Business. Practice areas include: Analytics, Intelligence, & Data Technology (AIDT), Client Platforms, Core Technology Services (CTS), Financial Advisor Platforms, Global Banking Technology (GBT), Investment Solutions Technology (IST), Institutional Wealth and Corporate Solutions Technology (IWCST), Technology Delivery Management (TDM), User Experience (UX), and the CAO team.

Client Platforms

Core Platform Services is responsible for driving Resiliency, Automation, Performance, Stability, and Efficiency across Wealth Management Technology.

Software Engineering

This is a senior developer position for Onboarding and Regulatory platform. You are required to be a technologist with solid command on distributed development tools and tech-stack - primarily Java and Java based web-development, angular, databases, frameworks for enterprise system development, enterprise integration patterns, cloud focused architecture and tools.

What you’ll do in the role:

1.Effectively work with the PMO, Development, Product Management, Business and Technical Operations, Systems Engineering, Infrastructure, Networks and Architecture teams
2.Design and develop front-end JavaScript and React/Angular based application.
3.Performs new development, maintenance fixes and enhancements to meet business requirements.
4.Draft and review architectural diagrams, specifications, business requirements as well as various design documents.
5.Work with our existing technology stack (React, Angular, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Node JS, Java, Linux, Unix, Open Source Platforms, and SOA) as well as new technologies for our next generation solutions.
6.Document technical requirements, program and subsystem designs, resolutions to system problems, project task descriptions, effort estimates, and unit and integration tests.

What you’ll bring to the role:

1.2 - 4 years in web development in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, REACT and/or Angular & TypeScript
2.A solid understanding of responsive design/development and mobile-web best practices.
3.Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git and Bitbucket
4.Practical experience working within the Scrum Framework and Agile methodologies
5.Must possess strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
6.Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
7.Willingness to occasionally wander into other areas (e.g., backend, devops, other teams’ codebase) and ship end-to-end solutions.
