The Assistant Coach is responsible for supporting the Head Coach in all aspects of an intercollegiate athletic program at Otero College. This includes coaching, academic monitoring and support, athlete recruitment, program operations, community engagement, and team travel. The Assistant Coach plays a critical role in creating a positive, inclusive, and development-focused environment for student-athletes and represents the college in both athletic and community settings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent combination of experience, training, and education Coaching experience at the high school, club, or collegiate level Effective interpersonal and communication skills Valid and unrestricted driver’s license with the ability to obtain a CDL with passenger endorsement. Proof of a valid driver’s license must be provided upon hire. Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and travel PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree Collegiate playing and/or coaching experience Experience with athlete recruitment Familiarity with NJCAA rules and eligibility compliance APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
