We currently have an opportunity available for an Assistant Vice President Accident & Health Claims position. This position is located in our Lenexa, Kansas office and reports to the Senior Vice President of Accident & Health North America Claims. How you will create an impact + Provide Leadership and direction to the Accident & Health claims team, which consists of a team of 20+ individuals and leaders. + Manage and provide technical assistance to the team as needed who handle a variety of Accident & Health claims including accident and sickness claims, travel, accidental death and dismemberment, including claims in litigation or in appeal. + Lead key strategic projects including: + review of capacity & staffing model + review of structure in anticipation of strategic growth + Clearly define and support our claims value proposition + Represent A&H Claims on key engagements with U/W, Brokers, Clients + Represent A&H Claims on key projects (e.g. CDP lite roll-out, payment modernization, other system enhancements) + Drive strategy around talent, cost containment initiatives incl. E2E workflow, business alignment and customer service + Oversee our business partners and our processes (e.g. assistance providers, claims assignment etc.) + Identify and manage any file handling trends through file quality through monthly audits and address any issues through employee coaching/training to minimize departmental leakage. + Ensure that broker/customer needs are met, manage expectations and ensure satisfaction, including building out our service level standards and reporting metrics for our key brokers and clients + Provide assistance to Underwriting / Actuarial as necessary and assist in the retention and acquisition of insureds + Collaboration/Alignment with key stakeholders across the organization + Complete mid-year reviews and performance reviews + Build development plan for all analysts within the group and provide opportunities for development + Promote a culture of integrity and risk management within the team What you’ll need to succeed + 10+ years’ experience in a leadership role in Accident & Health claims. + Ability to work independently. + Strong decision making-skills. + Excellent oral and written communication skills. + Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. + Superior analytical skills. + Ability to multi-task and work effectively and cooperatively in a fast-paced busy team environment. + Ability to manage workload effectively and efficiently/ability to prioritize is essential. #LI-PA1 #accidenthealth #claimsmanagement At AIG, we value in-person collaboration as a vital part of our culture, which is why we ask our team members to be primarily in the office.
