Assistant Vice President, Compensation
Designs and executes a comprehensive compensation strategy aligned with business objectives and company culture, including scalable programs and playbooks. Implements innovative compensation strategies to attract, retain and motivate top talent while aligning with the organization s goals and objectives. Oversees the job architecture framework, leveling, and overall compensation planning process to include merit pay, incentive distribution and career advancement.
Job Specific RequirementsLead the strategy, design, and administration of competitive and equitable compensation programs, including base pay, general pay for performance, merit-based pay, incentives and executive compensation.Continually seek to harmonize system-wide pay programs while understanding and accounting for operational nuancesWorks with senior leaders to ensure pay transparency and focus on pay equity Design and maintain a job hierarchy and job architecture strategy to align compensation practices, build meaningful career ladders and pathways, manage span of control and ensure operational effectiveness. Oversee the proactive review and analysis of market data, internal pay equity and industry trends to ensure the competitiveness and effectiveness of compensation programs.Partner with HR, finance, and executive leadership to develop, communicate, and manage compensation budget, policies, guidelines and procedures.Leverage insights, analytics, and market data to assess program effectiveness, support decision making, and present findings to the RWJBH senior leadership team.Partner with the SVP Total Rewards to manage the total well being strategy for the health system, in conjunction with senior rewards leadership peers.Lead, mentor, develop, and inspire a high performing team of compensation professionals to function autonomously and effectively to support the business.Provides strategic guidance and support to HR and management on compensation-related matters, including job evaluations, salary offers, and retention strategies.Lead compensation related projects such as mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations and system implementations ensuring smooth transitions and compliance with legal requirements.Manage the annual salary and bonus review process, including pay-for-performance and executive salary reviews. Oversee the administration of executive compensation programs, ensuring alignment with shareholder interests and regulatory compliance.Develop and deliver training programs for HR and management on compensation principles, practices and compliance requirements.Stay current on legislation, regulations and industry best practices related to compensation, advising management on potential impacts and opportunities.
