Assistant Technical Manager

What this job involves: 

The Assistant Technical Manager position supports the technical management team in ensuring seamless operations, maintenance, and services delivery across assigned properties. This role acts as a vital liaison between property stakeholders, service providers, and the technical management leadership. 

What your day-to-day will look like:

Assist in the day-to-day technical operations of assigned properties, ensuring all building systems function optimally 

Support the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs 

Coordinate with contractors and vendors to schedule and oversee maintenance and repair work 

Monitor compliance with building codes, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards 

Assist in preparing technical reports, budgets, and forecasts for property operations 

Respond to emergency situations and troubleshoot technical issues as they arise 

Support sustainability initiatives and energy efficiency programs 

Participate in property inspections and document findings 

Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, warranties, and equipment documentation 

Assist with tenant/occupant requests related to building systems and technical issues 

 

Desired or preferred experience and technical skills 

Required Skills and Experience 

 

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Facilities Management, or related technical field preferred 

2-4 years of experience in facilities management, building operations, or related field 

Working knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety 

Familiarity with building management systems (BMS) and preventative maintenance software 

Understanding of regulatory requirements related to building operations 

Strong problem-solving skills and technical aptitude 

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities 

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and facility management software 

Ability to read and interpret building plans and technical documentation
