Summary (Major Purpose of the Role): Support supervisory responsibilities while applying technical skills to quality functions associated with manufacturing line.
Main Activities/Responsibilities:
Supervise and direct others consistently and professionally.Assist associates in the completion of assignments by answering technical questions or demonstrating execution of tasks. Conduct training for new hires and re-training as needed for existing associates. Monitor associate progress towards completion of assignment. Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to assembly associates.Communicate supply issues and other manufacturing concerns to appropriate individualsPrioritize, coordinate, and schedule work assignments for associates in the department with guidance from supervisor.Inspect parts, materials, and sub-assemblies to ensure conformance to specifications, in accordance with current procedures and maintain inspection data and records. Maintain records of assembly line performance and material disposition. Communicate findings with all functional groups and be available related inquiries. Reinforce Good Manufacturing Practices with manufacturing staff.Inspect Finished Goods to determine degree of conformance to specification. Assist Engineering in specification revision or with vendor performance and material disposition.Assist various departments with ongoing supplier performance monitoring activitiesCoordinate shift transition with supervisors and leads from adjacent shifts.

Reporting Relationships and Supervision:
Assistant Supervisor works under the guidance of the Manager, Production and Shift Supervisor; Areas of responsibility are reviewed daily and as circumstances arise throughout the day.
Education and Experience:
Associates Degree in technical field or equivalent experience Understanding of drawings and specifications gained by training or experienceDemonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Excel1-2 years Supervisor or Team Lead/Leadership experience preferredPrior experience in manufacturing assembly preferred.Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writingUse of standard measuring instruments; competence in mathematics, with basic statistics or Certification by ASQC to CQT.
