About the Role

Boston University is seeking a collaborative, strategic, and detail-oriented Assistant Registrar for Department Support to join our Office of the University Registrar (OUR). This position plays a vital role in maintaining student records, supporting new system initiatives, and driving improvements to business processes that impact students, faculty, and staff. The Assistant Registrar ensures data accuracy, supports system testing and implementation, and partners closely with colleagues across campus to uphold the integrity of academic records.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Support the implementation and ongoing development of new system functionality and enhancements within MyBU Collaborate with schools and colleges to research, evaluate, and implement business process improvements Monitor and manage data queries and record updates to ensure accurate and timely maintenance of student records Provide technical and functional support for system upgrades, testing, troubleshooting, and daily operations Assist in training OUR, Enrollment Services, and academic unit staff on new or updated systems and processes Serve as a liaison with campus partners to resolve student academic record issues and support institutional compliance Review and prioritize projects, ensuring completion of critical activities on a daily, weekly, and semester basis Participate on institutional committees and contribute to department-wide initiatives Continuously assess and advocate for improvements in system functionality, workflow, and service delivery Assist in preparing and reviewing documentation and training materials for new and revised processes

 

About the Organization

The Office of the University Registrar is part of the Enrollment & Student Administration unit (ENSA). It supports the instructional and student progress endeavors of Boston University by providing quality services to students, faculty, academic and administrative departments, and the public. We supervise registration and the evaluation of transfer credit, maintain student academic records and record grades, issue transcripts, verify enrollment and graduation, issue diplomas, assign classrooms, produce the class schedule, schedule final examinations, and oversee production of the Bulletin and the Degree Advice system.
