The Assistant Director of Clinical Services aids the Program Director in overseeing day to day program operations with a focus on clinical treatment to support the delivery of high quality, accessible, and responsive services to clients. The Assistant Director may be assigned direct responsibility for particular program elements, initiatives, or program teams. The Assistant Director provides clinical leadership and clinical development to program staff, provides direct support for work with clients and families, and engages effectively with external partners to support client care. 

About San Francisco Children’s Crisis Continuum Pilot Program

The new San Francisco Children’s Crisis Continuum Pilot Program includes 3 residential programs that support San Francisco County in building out their continuum of care to meet the needs of foster youth. This Continuum includes Aspire Enhanced Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (E-STRTP), as well as a second E-STRTP of the same model that will be opening in Summer of 2025. The last component of the continuum will be a residential program that serves youth in crisis on a short-term basis in order to stabilize mental health crises. These programs provide individualized support that focuses on coping skills, permanency work, therapy, life skills and emotional support with a staff of Youth Stabilization Specialists, clinicians/facilitators, nursing and psychiatry support along with a robust leadership team.

Responsibilities:

Work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to assist the director in overseeing the overall quality and operations of the program. Responsible for oversight of particular program content areas or program improvement initiatives, as assigned. Provides clinical supervision, training, professional development, and oversight of clinical, direct care and/or administrative support staff, as assigned, to ensure high quality clinical service delivery to clients that is grounded in Seneca's values, guided by the principles of Unconditional Care, and in adherence to relevant governing standards. Perform personnel functions for all staff, including overseeing hiring, professional development, evaluation, and termination. Provide direct supervision of program managers, direct care, and administrative support staff, as assigned. Provide clinical leadership to the program staff team, cultivating a program culture that supports safety, engagement, collaboration, and ongoing learning. Cultivate effective partnerships with applicable county offices, school districts, law enforcement agencies, emergency services, and other community providers, and facilitate effective training for partners, as requested. Support the director in management of applicable program facilities to ensure safety and a warm and welcoming environment of care. Provide oversight of the program budget related to assigned areas and take action to ensure financial sustainability. Engage in data-based program assessment activities to evaluate effectiveness and guide improvement.  

Provide consultation and training to program staff, caregivers, partners, and other providers, as assigned, in areas such as clinical treatment, client service planning, crisis management, safety assessment, etc.

Qualifications:

Required:

Master's degree in human services, psychology, social work, or related field from an accredited college or university At least two years post-licensure with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences Demonstrate record of effective leadership of other adults. At least 21 years of age. TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements. Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies’ insurance policy.

Preferred: 

Experience in a leadership, supervisory, or management role Strong written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams under high-pressure environments 

Schedule:

Full time; in-person Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 5:30 PM

Starting at $94.435 - $113,435 per year Actual salary is dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role.
