Assistant Professor - Urban Policy and Planning Dept., School of Arts and Sciences **FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT** The Department of Urban Policy and Planning at Hunter College seeks an Assistant Professor in transportation policy for the Fall 2026 semester. We especially seek candidates specializing in transportation advocacy and accessibility, broadly defined, focusing on community-engaged research in the United States and globally. Additional specializations in transportation policy related to this theme will also be considered. In addition to a robust research agenda, the candidate must be able to teach applied policy research skills in real-world settings to graduate students and develop a variety of core and elective policy-related courses. Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments, including administrative, supervisory, and other functions. **QUALIFICATIONS** A Ph.D. degree in policy, public administration, political science, planning, or a related field, specializing in transportation, is required. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and the ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution. **COMPENSATION** Compensation is commensurate with experience, within the approved range of $77,092- $91,922, April 2024 contract (with the new contract range expected to be: $79,598-$94,909 (9/2025 contract); & $82,384 -$98,231 (9/2026 contract)).
