Assistant Professor of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry

The Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at Wesleyan University seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry beginning July 1, 2026. The candidate will develop an independent research program supported by extramural funding that integrates current molecular genetics, biochemical or biophysical approaches to address fundamental problems in molecular biology. The minimum requirement is a Ph. D. in molecular biology or a related field. The successful candidate will likely have postdoctoral experience and demonstrated excellence in research and teaching. We seek an individual who can contribute to both our undergraduate and graduate course curriculum. The successful applicant will teach one course each semester and facilitate a journal club or graduate seminar.
The new hire will establish their lab in our brand-new science building and participate in our Ph.D. training program and cross-disciplinary initiatives in the life sciences. Additional duties include advising and mentoring students, as well as participating in faculty governance at the departmental and university level.
