Assistant Nurse Manager - Labor And Delivery

Hospital Labor and Delivery is a fast paced bed unit with an additional triage rooms operating rooms and PACU Delivering approximately babies per year and managing up to triage visits per month we care for high risk antepartum and obstetrical patients that may require extended stays on Labor and Delivery for maternal cardiac telemetry obstructive sleep apnea management preeclampsia with Magnesium and postpartum hemorrhageJob Summary hour exempt supervisory position on the night shift Provides clinical care to patients as necessary to meet unit needs Reports directly to the Nurse Manager of Labor and Delivery Works collaboratively with the Managers of Maternity Bliss and Womenrsquos Health North to facilitate a smooth transition of patient care and sharing of resourcesJob ResponsibilitiesSupports the Unit Manager in day to day operations supervision of staff and conflict resolutionProvides expert clinical careRole models professionalism interdisciplinary collaboration and teamworkFunctions in the Resource role as needed utilizing resources effectively and efficientlyFacilitates unit ldquoHuddlesrdquoCoaches and mentors staffConducts staff counseling related to performancePerforms annual employee evaluations in collaboration with the Nurse Manager and ANMSupports the patient experience through a patientfamily centered approach to decision making and practice regular patient rounding monthly tracking of patient satisfaction data and identifying opportunitiesAssists Manager in managing change and sustaining initiativesPerforms audits and monitors documentation and adherence to standardsExhibits the HH Leadership BehaviorsBeing in the momentBeing authentic and humanisticVolunteering discretionary effort constantlyModeling high performance of
