Position SummaryAssumes first line leadership responsibility and accountability for managing the delivery of care. Performs all professional nursing care responsibilities and participates in the recruitment, development and appraisal of staff. This role also develops and monitors policies and procedures and monitors staff compliance with regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibilities Coordinates daily clinical care and support activities of the outpatient practice. Maintains flow of patients, delegates appropriate tasks to clinical technicians and nurses, provides guidelines and ensures patients are aware of physician delays. Assists with the development of short- and long-term development and operational goals. Monitors outcomes and revises plans as necessary. Ensures practice compliance with local, state and federal regulatory requirements. Assists with the supervision and coordination of clinical support staff. Orients and trains all new clinical employees; evaluates staff performance, develops corrective action plans as needed. Ensures compliance with annual compliance requirements. Provides general in-office, patient care services as needed. Maintains current knowledge of quality and safety standards for an outpatient physician practice setting. Monitors levels of quality of service as measured by satisfaction surveys, customer comments and direct observation. Recommends strategies that are responsive to quality of service needs. Triages patient inquiries and communicates test results. Reviews daily appointment/staffing schedules and manages patient flow. Ensures that all clinical equipment is properly checked and maintained and logs are kept up to date, including AED, emergency kits, oxygen tanks, vaccine refrigerators, high level disinfectant and GUS stations. Responsible for other special projects and duties as assigned. Education Bachelor's Degree in Nursing ExperienceApproximately 3 years of clinical experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). Demonstrated leadership competencies, including ability to motivate staff, excellent organizational skills, and ability to work effectively as a member of a team, in a busy, fast paced environment. Licenses and Certifications NYS Registered Professional Nurse license and current RN registration BLS Certification (issued by the American Heart Association) Infection Control Certificate.
