Job Summary

Salary Range: $31,000 salary

Job responsibilities:

Serve as assistant coach for NCAA Division III intercollegiate men’s basketball program. Travel to regional and national recruiting events, identifying and prospecting potential recruits for men’s basketball program. Perform essential coaching duties including, but not limited to on-field coaching skill development scouting of opponents practice planning Video work Coordinate office tasks such as mailings, e-mail communication, visit correspondence, travel scheduling, equipment inventory, budget oversight, social media, etc. Oversee, direct and supervise part-time staff and student-workers as needed. Support, respect, and advance the mission of Saint Mary’s University as a Lasallian Catholic institution.

Have strong communication skills and be able to work in a dynamic work environment. Have a strong passion for the profession and be a positive team member on our staff. Be willing to work flexible hours to include evenings and weekends; travel with team. Have exemplary ethical conduct and a commitment to follow all applicable NCAA Division III and Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rules and regulations. Be able to work independently on multiple projects. Be forward-thinking and have effective problem-solving skills. Be able to interact with a large range of personalities and value sets. Have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues, students, recruits and other stakeholders. Observes safety guidelines and follows safety procedures established by the university.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree, required. Master’s Degree, preferred. 1-3 years of experience coaching men’s basketball in a high school or college setting. May consider other acceptable equivalent combinations of training and experience
