Job DescriptionJ.S. Held is seeking an Assistant Managing Director for our Builder's Risk/Construction All Risk/Erection All Risk Practice with a strong focus on delivering exceptional service and superior work product to clientele. You will be responsible for the overseeing scheduling, inspection, support, and delivery of multiple projects across various disciplines within the insurance claim industry. The role is primarily working on construction and engineering insurance claims in the APAC region to impartially assess property damage losses.

Eligibility for this role requires the applicant to have the legal right to work for J.S. Held in Singapore and, where applicable, to obtain and maintain a valid Employment Pass issued by the Ministry of Manpower.
Job Responsibilities
Minimum 10 years of experience in construction or construction consulting, with a strong background in estimating and quantity surveying.
Proven ability to manage complex projects from inception to completion, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.
Skilled in construction estimating, cost analysis, and quantity surveying.
Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to assess damage, evaluate repair options, and recommend cost-effective solutions.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines.
Conduct thorough site inspections to assess construction damage and document findings.
Calculate quantities and costs for materials, labor, and timeframes required for repair, reinstatement, or reconstruction.
Analyze actual repair costs and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for clients and stakeholders.
Evaluate the cost-effectiveness of loss mitigation measures and suggest improvements where applicable.
Collaborate closely with clients, advisors, stakeholders, and internal teams to provide expert cost advice.
Support the negotiation of claims and assist in resolving disputes related to construction damage and associated costs.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from a recognized institution.Hands-on experience working on active construction projects.Proven project management skills with the ability to organize, evaluate, and manage complex project documentation.Excellent verbal communication skills and availability to meet with clients as needed.Strong writing skills with the ability to produce clear, detailed, and professional reports.Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits or client meetings.Preferred Qualifications
Experience conducting schedule delay analysis.Proficiency in Primavera P6 or similar project scheduling software.Background in litigation support or experience providing expert testimony.Familiarity with construction insurance claims and related processes.Experience working on energy sector construction projects.Recognized Quantity Surveying certification (e.g., RICS, CIQS).Experience supporting or acting as an Expert Witness in dispute resolution or claims.Additional InformationSome of the Benefits We Have Include
