Assistant Manager/Senior Officer, Product Development

The incumbent will support the development and implementation of innovative group and individual global medical/health insurance products which address the needs of target segments by understanding consumer insights, market/competitive situation, and organizational strategy.  This position will coordinate our product shelf with our wider proposition strategy and support the business development and client servicing teams. The Product team works with marketing, distribution, clinical, network, operations, and other frontline and back-end business functions as needed to launch and implement products and health services in a timely manner.

Job Responsibilities:

Develop the pipeline of product opportunities and plan their implementation aligned with channel growth and overall company objectives;

Support end-to-end product development/revamp and implementation covering all distribution channels;

Drive cross-department collaboration to ensure products and various product initiatives will be launched in a satisfactory and timely manner;

Support ongoing product maintenance and post-launch initiatives;    

Prepare various product materials including but not limited to product specifications, product approval documents, policy provisions, benefit illustrations to facilitate the product development and implementation process while meeting internal product governance and local regulatory requirements;

Conduct market research, competitive analysis and reports on a regular basis so as to gain insight into the latest market and product trend;

Support ad hoc product-related projects that may include end-to-end implementation flow and approval process;

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline;

Minimum 2-4 years of relevant working experience with a strong understanding in insurance product development and implementation. Candidates with less experience may be offered positions at a lower ranking level

Knowledge of Medical/Health insurance and/or Hong Kong healthcare system, with experience in Employee Benefits, Global high end medical insurance is an advantage, but not a must;

Strong analytical abilities and creative energy;

Ability to be self-driven, show initiative and motivate others.

Good communications skills (spoken/written English and Chinese), detail-minded, a good team player and willing to learn;

Proficiency in PC skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & MS Chinese Word)
