Inviting applications for the role of Assistant Manager– Spend Analytics – Tactical Sourcing
Responsible for Spend Analysis Opportunity Identification in the tactical sourcing for all the categories in the indirect procurement.
Responsibilities
• Spend Data Analysis:
o Extract, process, and analyze large datasets related to procurement and expenditures across various categories, vendors, and business units.
o Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in spend data to provide actionable insights.
o Use data visualization tools (such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel) to create dashboards and reports that highlight spend distribution and key metrics.
• Opportunity Identification:
o Evaluate procurement data to uncover cost-saving opportunities, supplier consolidation prospects, and process efficiencies.
o Identify maverick spending, non-contract purchases, and potential areas for negotiation with suppliers.
o Support category managers and procurement teams with data-driven insights to enhance sourcing strategies and optimize purchasing decisions.
• Data Cleansing Categorization:
o Assess existing spend data for inconsistencies, missing information, and classification errors.
o Recommend best practices for data cleansing, including supplier normalization, duplicate elimination, and standardization of descriptions.
o Work on spend taxonomy improvements by mapping data accurately to UNSPSC or other industry-standard classifications.
o Collaborate with IT and procurement teams to improve master data management (MDM) for spend analysis.
• Collaboration Reporting:
o Work closely with procurement, finance, and business stakeholders to understand spend-related challenges and provide insights.
o Develop reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations effectively.
o Assist in building predictive models or automation tools for continuous spend monitoring and optimization
Qualifications we seek in you
Minimum Qualifications / Skills
o Graduation in any discipline (Pref B.Tech or any other tech/non-tech degree with computer course/certification/diploma)
o Familiarity with one ERP or eProcurement tool
o Good Analytical / Commercial Skills, Strong Communication Interpersonal Skills
o Relevant years of experience in spend analytics, procurement analytics, or data analysis.
o Have strong interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills
o Need to be strong team player
o Excellent communication skills will be required as the person will have to communicate with suppliers all over the world
o Should be excellent in Excel in addition to having good working knowledge of MS Word and Power Point
o English language capability to proficiency level
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
o Effective probing skills and analyzing / understanding skills
o Strong proficiency in Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Python, or R for data analysis and visualization.
o Experience with procurement and spend classification frameworks (e.g., UNSPSC, eCl@ss, custom taxonomy).
o Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP Ariba, Coupa, Oracle Procurement, Jaggaer, GEP, etc.) is a plus.
o Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
o Analytical skills with customer centric approach
o Excellent proficiency with written English and with neutral English accent
