Key Responsibilities & DutiesTechnical OversightReview and validate MEP design documentation, drawings, specifications, and load calculations to ensure technical accuracy and constructability within fit-out constraintsPerform detailed technical analysis of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems proposed for fit-out projectsDevelop comprehensive MEP technical specifications aligned with project requirements, client expectations, and regulatory standardsIdentify potential MEP system conflicts and integration challenges early in the design phase, proposing effective technical solutionsConduct thorough MEP site surveys to assess existing conditions and infrastructure limitationsProvide expert technical guidance on equipment selection, system design optimization, and energy efficiency strategiesLead MEP coordination meetings to resolve spatial conflicts and integration issues between different building systemsOversee testing, commissioning, and handover of MEP installations, ensuring full functionality and complianceProject ManagementManage the MEP component of multiple concurrent fit-out projects throughout their entire lifecycleDevelop detailed MEP execution schedules, resource plans, and budget requirementsMonitor and control MEP-related costs, ensuring adherence to established budgetsIdentify, assess, and mitigate MEP-specific risks that could impact project deliveryPrepare accurate technical submittals and procurement documentation for MEP equipment and materialsCoordinate with suppliers and specialists to ensure timely delivery of critical MEP componentsConduct regular site inspections to verify MEP installation quality and progressGenerate comprehensive technical reports documenting MEP system performance and project statusClient Relationship ManagementServe as the primary technical MEP advisor during client consultations and progress meetingsTranslate complex MEP requirements and concepts into clear, understandable terms for non-technical stakeholdersLead technical discussions regarding MEP system options, limitations, and optimization possibilitiesNegotiate realistic timelines and technical parameters with clients based on project constraintsAddress and resolve client concerns related to MEP systems promptly and efficientlyBuild and maintain strong relationships with key client technical representativesTeam LeadershipSupervise and mentor a team of MEP coordinators, engineers, and technical specialistsAllocate technical resources effectively across multiple projects based on complexity SkillsTechnical ExpertiseComprehensive knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, ventilation, air conditioning)Strong understanding of electrical systems (power distribution, lighting, emergency systems)Practical knowledge of plumbing systems (water supply, drainage, sanitary systems)Familiarity with fire protection systems (sprinklers, fire alarms, smoke control)Expertise in MEP system integration within constrained existing building environmentsAbility to interpret and validate complex MEP technical documentation and calculationsUnderstanding of energy efficiency principles and sustainable building practicesKnowledge of building automation systems and controlsSoft SkillsExceptional problem-solving abilities with analytical approach to technical challengesStrong project Services EngineeringProfessional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent professional qualification preferredLEED AP, WELL AP, or similar sustainability credentials considered an advantageSpecialized MEP certifications such as Certified HVAC Designer (CHD) or similar valuedIndustry-Specific Experience6-8 years of progressive experience specifically in MEP coordination for commercial fit-out
