Job Summary:

The Assistant Manager – Mechanical will be responsible for managing mechanical construction activities in thermal power plant projects, including BTG (Boiler, Turbine, Generator), BOP (Balance of Plant), and CHP (Coal Handling Plant) packages. The role involves handling both greenfield and brownfield projects, ensuring timely execution, quality compliance, and coordination with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Execution:

Supervise mechanical construction activities for BTG, BOP, and CHP packages. Ensure adherence to project timelines, safety standards, and quality protocols. Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and consultants for smooth execution.

Technical Oversight:

Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents. Provide support during installation, testing, and commissioning phases. Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement corrective actions.

Site Management:

Monitor daily progress and prepare reports for senior management. Ensure compliance with statutory and environmental regulations. Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain high standards.

Team Coordination:

Lead and mentor site engineers and technicians. Facilitate communication between project teams and other departments.

Technical Competencies:

Expertise in BTG, BOP, and CHP Systems In-depth understanding of mechanical systems and components in thermal power plants. Experience in Mechanical Construction Proven track record in executing mechanical works in both greenfield and brownfield projects. Analysing Mechanical Drawings Ability to interpret and validate engineering drawings and technical documentation. Project Management Skilled in planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management for mechanical projects.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Education: B.Tech / B.E in Mechanical Engineering Experience: 8–12 years in mechanical construction within thermal power plants
