Assistant Manager Communications

Manulife Vietnam is seeking a passionate and talented Communications Assistant Manager to join our Communications team. This role will primarily focus on internal communications, while also supporting external communications and event coordination. A love for writing is essential, as this role involves producing a high volume of engaging, accurate, and inspiring content for both internal and external audiences.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, fluent in both Vietnamese and English, and brings a proactive, team-player spirit. A background in journalism, corporate writing, or editorial work is a strong advantage.

Position Responsibilities:

1.Internal Communications (Primary Focus)

• Lead the creation of compelling and clear internal communication materials including newsletters, company announcements, leadership messages, campaign content, MFC articles, and employee engagement updates.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (especially HR and business units) to support internal initiatives that drive employee understanding and alignment.

• Develop and manage internal communication plans and editorial calendars.

• Monitor employee sentiment and feedback to continuously enhance internal communication strategies.

2.Content Creation & Editorial Work

• Write, edit, and proofread content in both English and Vietnamese across different formats: articles, scripts, video captions, Q&As, speeches, and event materials.

• Ensure tone, clarity, and alignment with brand voice and messaging.

• Collaborate with designers, videographers, and agencies to produce multimedia content.

3.External Communications

• Support the creation of public-facing communications such as press releases, CSR content, award submissions, and social media narratives.

• Coordinate with PR agencies and external stakeholders to manage media opportunities.

• Ensure alignment of internal and external messages to reinforce brand values.

4.Event & Campaign Support

• Provide communication support before, during, and after internal and external events (e.g., town halls, CSR initiatives, leadership forums).

• Assist with logistics and ensure all communication touchpoints are well-executed.

5.Administrative & Operational Duties

• Manage documentation, scheduling, budget tracking, vendor liaison, and meeting coordination.

• Keep accurate records of communications activities, reports, and project timelines.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.

• At least 5 years of experience in internal/external communications or editorial work; journalism background is a strong plus.

• Exceptional writing and editing skills in both Vietnamese and English.

• Proven ability to translate complex ideas into simple, engaging, and human centered messages.

• Excellent organizational and project management skills.

• Proficiency in MS Office, and familiarity with platforms like SharePoint, Teams, or content management systems.

• Creative, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic photography skills and eye for visual storytelling are a strong plus.

• Working knowledge of design tools such as PowerPoint, Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.

• A strong team-player attitude with a high level of responsibility and professionalism.

• Willingness to take on operational and administrative tasks as part of a collaborative team.
