Assistant Manager Brand Communications Running, BU Running/Outdoor/Motorsports, Brand adidas

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

Drive an effective and efficient brand activation across all communication touchpoints within BU Running & Outdoor & Motorsports concepts in the country with full alignment between the global Brand Communications and local Business Units. Develop and ensure excellent implementation of category activation for own retail and wholesale accounts while providing respective category contents for digital activation.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Support Category Brand Comms Manager to create the local brand marketing plan & calendar based on input from global Business Units and Brand Communications at the commercial input timing Execute local brand/category marketing plan in close collaboration with Japan BU and Brand Activation teams. Develop local content, if necessary, in alignment with the Key Stakeholders (listed in the Key Relationships section) with the support of Brand Comms Manager. Align with the Brand Activation team on the PR, Social and media strategy for a campaign execution Collaborate with the Brand Activation team on the PR/Social and media strategy for a campaign execution Manage the execution of the Marketing Expenses plan as per manager’s guidance. Support local trade meetings by providing appropriate sell-in tools Manage the production and implementation of bespoke alliance and key account campaigns Support Category Brand Comms lead for miscellaneous, i.e. campaign reports.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of the full marketing mix (advertising, events, sponsorship, retail, PR, digital, Social) with a major brand or retailer (sporting goods industry preferred) Ability to develop local marketing plan following global guidelines Marketing budget planning and management Strong communication skill to internal and external stakeholders Advanced user of MS Office suite of products Ability to function as a good team player for both internal / external (agency).

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

University degree in Business or equivalent professional experience. At least 3 years’ experience in relevant Marketing fields Marketing and /or Sales experience Fluent communication in both English and local language (Japanese) preferred.
