On-Site Mechanical Inspections and Testing

Conduct mechanical inspections of wind turbine installations, including checks on tower alignment, nacelle positioning, and rotor blade fitment. Verify torque settings, bolt pre-loads, and lubrication levels in mechanical assemblies to ensure compliance with turbine specifications.

Support for Customer Complaints and Issue Resolution

Address mechanical-related customer complaints by conducting on-site diagnostics, including vibration analysis and thermal imaging. Implement corrective actions for issues such as misalignments, excessive wear, and abnormal noise, coordinating with internal teams as needed.

Mechanical Component Quality Verification

Inspect mechanical components, including yaw drives, pitch systems, and gearboxes, to ensure they meet installation and operational standards. Perform tests such as resonance frequency analysis and alignment check to validate the proper functioning of mechanical systems.

Documentation and Compliance

Maintain detailed records of all on-site inspections, test results, and corrective actions, ensuring compliance with customer agreements and industry standards. Ensure that all mechanical QA activities at the site adhere to standards such as ISO 10816 (Mechanical Vibration) and IEC 61400-4 (Design Requirements for Gearboxes).

Training and Technical Support to Customers

Provide technical support and training to customer personnel on mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and safe operation of turbines. Assist customers in understanding mechanical performance data, including vibration signatures and alignment tolerances.

Coordination with Site Teams and Contractors

Work closely with installation teams and contractors to ensure mechanical systems are installed correctly and meet quality standards. Support the lead in coordinating quality audits and inspections at the customer site, focusing on mechanical aspects.

Continuous Improvement and Feedback

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on common mechanical issues observed during site visits. Assist in developing enhanced QA processes for mechanical systems, aimed at reducing downtime and improving turbine performance.

Safety and Compliance

Ensure all on-site mechanical activities adhere to safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and safe handling of mechanical components. Monitor compliance with environmental and occupational health standards during site support activities.
