This involves planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. This a Full-Time Year-Round position responsible for the maintenance and construction of snowmaking infrastructure during the summer. Direct supervision is received from the Snowmaking Manager and Senior Mgr. of Snow Surfaces. **Job Specifications:** + Starting Wage: $55,000.00 - $70,000 + Employment Type: Year Round + Shift Type: Full Time hours available + Minimum Age: At least 18 years of age + Housing Availability: No **Job Responsibilities:** + Hire, train, and manage a team of snowmakers for both winter production season and summer maintenance season. + Maintain and plan the operation of snowmaking equipment + Oversee the proper installation and maintenance of snowmaking equipment. + Ensure efficient and safe operation year-round, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions. + Manage operating and capital budgets, ensuring effective use of resources. + Develop and promote a strong safety culture within the snowmaking team. + Identify and develop talent and leadership on the snowmaking team, as well as succession planning. + Maintain high morale and engagement among team members. + Responsible for ensuring compliance with all mandated company and department policies and procedures including safety guidelines. + Collaborate with grooming and terrain park departments to align on snow planning and resort objectives. + Assist the broader Snow Surfaces team with on-mountain summer construction projects, stormwater management, revegetation and brushback + Occasionally operate heavy equipment as required, i.e. snow removal equipment, excavators, forklifts, and mowing equipment. **Preferred Qualifications** + High School education or equivalent + Previous snowmaking or on-mountain operations experience. + Minimum 3 years supervisory experience. + Valid driver's license. + Must have basic computer skills + Previous heavy equipment and/or cat operating experience. + Previous electrical and mechanical experience (pumps, motors, compressors). **Physical Requirements** + Advanced skier/snowboarder – required. + Able to withstand inclement weather conditions for extended periods of time. + Able to work and supervise day, midnight and weekends depending on need. + Able to lift and carry 75 lbs (34 kg) in a rugged alpine environment. + Must be able to stand, walk, and ski/ride in boots for long portions of your shift. The expected pay range is $55,000.00 - $70,000. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
