Main Areas of Responsibilities and Key Activities
Business & Market Development
Drives relationship management with Appliances & Construction accounts (all levels, all functions) with in-depth understanding of customer needs (along the value chain), industry drivers, and unique selling points of PU rigid foam solutions to recommend optimal products and innovative business models, leading to value creation for customers and BASF. Includes key accounts in appliance manufacturing (e.g., refrigeration, water heaters) and construction industries (e.g., insulation panels, roofing, and wall systems).Leads and concludes business contracts to ensure sustained business growth with designated customers.Provides accurate sales forecasting and defines annual budgets (Volume, Net Sales, CM1) for selected accounts.Contributes to the development and implementation of segment, application, product, and customer strategies to achieve sales targets.Organizes and conducts customer events such as Seminars, Technology Days, and Technical Workshops for strategic customers to generate new business opportunities in PU rigid foam applications.Provides prompt responses to quality, technical, and application inquiries, addressing customer-related issues effectively.Technical support of market strategy
Visits customers to collect and analyze field information on customer expectations and challenges related to PU rigid foam product performance and technical service needs, ensuring product design suitability for specific applications (e.g., thermal insulation, structural integrity).Provides competitive product performance data to validate the competitiveness of BASF’s PU rigid foam products.Acts as a technical consultant and troubleshooter, offering support to customers, including handling and following up on technical complaints related to PU rigid foam applications.Product application and development
Provides technical guidance and assistance to customers for PU rigid foam applications, including optimization, troubleshooting, and training of personnel to enhance pre- and post-sales services.Serves as a technical service representative within a technical service team at larger accounts to identify future customer needs and determine service approaches to ensure satisfaction with PU rigid foam products and services.Offers inputs and recommendations for developing and evaluating PU rigid foam applications, defining marketability, suggesting modifications, and identifying ineffective products for termination.Collaborates closely with the PU rigid foam core team (Marketing, Product Development, Technical Development) to support market development in Asia (excluding China), including product promotion, project follow-up, and technical support (vertical and on-site).Credit Management
Monitors the growth of customers’ businesses, reviews, and coordinates with credit control to make appropriate credit recommendations.Follows up on payment collections to ensure timely payments from customers.Compliance
Coordinates internal and external audits, establishes agency and distributor agreements.Ensures compliance with Quality Management (QM) standards in business conduct.Adheres to anti-trust regulations and ethical business transaction practices.
