Assistant Manager, School Operations

Job Description

The Assistant Manager, School Operations works with the Manager, School Operations to perform and/or oversee all aspects of school operations with an emphasis on compliance activities at all levels, internal and external to the K12 organization and functions as a member of the school leadership team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:   Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.

Works closely with Manager, School Operations to project manage major school events, such as Enrollment, Semester End Transition, Year End Transition, and State Testing;Develops relationships with education vendors, the districts, state and other education stakeholders;Helps maintain student records and data; creates/implements/documents processes that ensure student data validity in K12 and 3rd party databases;Assists Manager, School Operations with local, state, and federal reporting requirements;Works with Manager, School Operations and administrative staff to ensure the school is compliant with and meets all audit requirements;Oversees communication between the Company and districts related to student enrollments;Assists Manager, School Operations with the development of school policies and procedures, e.g. assists with the Company’s efforts nationally to develop policies and procedures, training standards and curriculum enhancements;Assists with a wide variety of personnel support issues and may support key office positions.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises 2-10 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) regular employees and/or contractors.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:   

Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field ANDThree (3) years of operations, project, or product management/support experience OREquivalent combination of education and experience

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

Organizational and time management skillsProficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and OutlookExperience using a student information system and/or other type of databaseStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to clear required background check

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

Management experienceFormal project management experience in fast-paced or start-up environment

This is an office-based position.  The noise level in the office is usually moderate (computers, printers, light foot traffic).
