Inviting applications for the role of Assistant Manager, Power BI Developer / Analyst
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Power BI Developer to design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transforming raw data into meaningful insights through dashboards and reports that support strategic business decisions.
Responsibilities
1. Power BI Development Data Visualization
• Develop, maintain, and deploy interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and visual analytics that help monitor business performance.
• Design and implement data models, calculated measures, KPIs, and DAX queries.
• Use Power Query (M language) to shape and transform data.
• Create intuitive, user-friendly interfaces that convey key metrics and trends.
• Leverage Power BI’s row-level security (RLS) to control access to sensitive data.
2. Data Integration Modeling
• Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources including:
o SQL Server, Oracle, Excel, SharePoint, APIs, Azure Data Lake, etc.
• Develop robust data pipelines and ensure accurate data integration.
• Build star and snowflake schemas suitable for efficient Power BI consumption.
• Optimize data refresh schedules and query performance.
3. Business Stakeholder Engagement
• Work with business stakeholders to gather requirements, understand KPIs, and translate business questions into technical solutions.
• Provide training and documentation to business users on Power BI usage and self-service capabilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Sales, Marketing, Operations) to build tailored analytics solutions.
4. Governance, Security Best Practices
• Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.
• Document all report logic, transformations, and source mappings clearly.
• Adhere to best practices for development, naming conventions, and version control.
• Contribute to the creation of a BI governance framework (documentation, standards, naming, etc.)
Qualifications we seek in you
Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
2. Relevant years of hands-on experience in Power BI development.
3. Proficiency in:
o DAX (Data Analysis Expressions)
o Power Query (M Language)
o SQL (T-SQL or PL/SQL)
4. Experience in building interactive dashboards and paginated reports.
5. Knowledge of data modeling concepts (facts, dimensions, normalization).
6. Excellent communication, storytelling, and analytical thinking skills.
7. Strong understanding of data warehousing and ETL best practices.
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
· Preferred Qualifications:
Microsoft Power BI Certification (e.g., PL-300 – Power BI Data Analyst).
· Experience with Azure services: Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake, etc.
· Knowledge of other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, QlikView) for comparison and integration purposes.
· Background in a specific industry (Finance, Healthcare, Retail, etc.)
· Familiarity with Agile development and DevOps practices.
