General Function
The Assistant Manager assists with purchasing, project management and personnel distribution for assigned projects. The Assistant Manager actively gathers information on the status of his/her projects and keeps the Manager informed of issues that could affect profitability. The Assistant Manager actively pursues new and/or evolving technology. This position also assists in maintaining a focus on safety throughout the company.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Understands and supports the business group’s safety program.
Observe safety procedures and bring any deficiencies to the attention of Leadership:
Any employee has the authority to stop work they feel is unsafe until the issue(s) can be resolved.
Make recommendations regarding personal development needs.
Assist in training and developing others on the project team.
Outlines and implements the Training Curriculum.
Make recommendations regarding staff disciplinary actions, if warranted.
Completes performance evaluation for assigned staff.
Contribute to the vision, goals, and objectives of the company.
Perform other tasks that may be assigned.
Assist in developing company policies and procedures.
Complies with and enforces company policies and safety regulations.
Assist in pre-construction phase as requested.
Identify and recommend value analysis and scope reduction opportunities on the project.
Suggest ways to save money or improve the quality of the project based on project documents.
Assists with preparing and implementing the project plan.
Attend regular OAC and job meetings, as needed.
Procures inventory for project staging as requested.
Assist with quarterly inventory accuracy.
Coaches and mentors’ technicians on inventory practices and controls.
Proceed with work only to the extent of an executed contract and executed change orders.
Review and enforce all contract terms and obligations.
Observe work in progress during field visits, question any procedures or end-products that don’t appear appropriate and discuss with the General Manager/Salesperson for resolution.
Resolve problems with subcontractors, vendors, architects/interior designers and owners as requested.
Oversee installation and/or construction progress to ensure the project plan is followed and schedule is maintained. Initiate recommendations to keep project on schedule.
Monitor, verify and expedite material and equipment deliveries, shipping commitments. Advise stakeholders of anticipated late deliveries or issues that could affect the project schedule.
Oversee project schedule updates as requested.
Respond effectively to RFI’s and coordinate response in the field. Verify impact and pricing, if required.
Track and resolve subcontractor and materials supplier requests for change. Ensure the appropriate subcontract amendments are issued on a timely basis.
Review submittals for accuracy and compliance with plans and specs.
Assist with system designs as requested.
Assist with proposal generation as requested.
Schedule personnel.
Assist with coordination of installation and service schedule for all assigned technicians.
Manage projects as assigned.
Assist with technician training of Installation, terminating and testing of devices and cable.
Assist with technician training so the technician is proficient in advanced device and control programming.
Assist with technician training so the technician is proficient in their ability to service and troubleshoot devices and components.
Maintain written documentation on all projects as assigned.
Vehicle and jobsite inventory accountability.
Assist with scheduling on-call rotation.
Assist with all after-hour emergency calls.

Education and Experience:
A high school diploma/GED is required. Industry related college degree and/or 5 years industry related experience is required. Must have a clear background check. Must currently hold and continue to hold a valid driver’s license. The ability to work flexible hours and travel regularly is necessary. Must be able to pass an initial and future random drug screen.
Physical Requirements:
Employee is regularly required to stand, walk and sit; use their hands to finger, handle, and maneuver or feel objects, tools, or controls.
They must reach with their hands and arms; be able to talk and to hear.
The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Vision requirements are that the employee must see well, either naturally or with correction, and must have good peripheral vision.
