As an Assistant Housekeeping Manager, you will use your housekeeping knowledge, while building lasting relationships with other department managers and staff. Collectively, you will share a common goal, and that is to exceed Guest expectations. Additionally, you will help develop housekeeping crew, as you guide them on their path to success! Thus, you will play an important role within the Disney Cruise Line team.
You will report to the Housekeeping Manager.
Level: Officer (2 Stripes)
Responsibilities: Responsible for assigned area/location including but not limited to: Guest Staterooms/Crew Accommodations, Night Operations, Public Areas, Deck, Wardrobe, Floor CareUphold the highest standards of cleanliness and maintenance of shipConduct daily area Inspections and confirm they comply to our Show quality and maintenance and USPH standardsEnsuring MLC 2006 compliance/accurate time recording practices are being followed in Company provided systems for crew membersOverall scheduling of the team with work assignmentsHandle and resolve housekeeping related Guest issues in a timely mannerConduct daily inspection of designated areas which includes: Daily Stateroom Inspection as per Quality Standard as well as Stateroom Pest Management Inspection & Quarterly Stateroom Inspection (maintenance & upkeep)Ensure all housekeeping areas meet USPH and Coast Guard regulationsOversee appropriate use and operation of housekeeping equipment and chemicalsSupervise luggage operations on embark/debark daysFacilitate department meetings; conduct daily pre-shift and break out meetingsTimely communication, documentation and appropriate follow up on all guest issuesProvide leadership and development to team Basic Qualifications: Minimum 3 years recent experience in Housekeeping Leadership, within the last 5 yearsLarge, luxury ships experience REQUIREDProven experience leading a diverse teamDemonstrated strong communication skills, both verbal and writtenDemonstrated ability to handle multiple tasksAbility to make decisionsStrong partnering, collaboration and relationship skills with various Line of Business/Departmental LeadersStrong Computer skills (Microsoft Programs) with a demonstrated proficiency with PC based data basesKnowledge of maintenance reporting cloud-based systems and hotel integration, with an openness to learning new ones Preferred Qualifications: Hospitality Management degree or equivalent a plusDry-dock, re-fit Experience a plusNew Ship/Launch Experience a plusKnowledgeable of guidelines (i.e. USPH, MLC, ILO) Additional Information:This is a SHIPBOARD role.

You must:
Be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel

Be willing to uphold the general safety management responsibilities as specified in the Safety Management System in areas and operations under their control
If applicable, be willing to share a confined cabin with other crew members and appreciative of working and living in a multicultural environment that has strict rules and regulations

Have a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa (DCL will provide you with documents to obtain this)
Complete a pre-employment medical
Obtain a criminal background check
Bring approved work shoes
