Assistant Golf Professional-Golf

Job Purpose:

The 1st Assistant Golf Professional is a key member of the golf department team at the property and assists Golf Management team in supervising all golf and golf-related activities at the facility.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain professional appearance and set example for all staff. Supervise pro shop staff, marshal/starters and outside services staff. Trains new pro shop staff and outside services staff Works closely with Marshall and Starter to monitor all aspects of play including starting, monitoring pace of play, safety on the course and golf course markings Assist in coordinating of individual, group, and tournament play as directed by the General Manager Have a working administration knowledge of point of sale (POS) system Assist in the receiving of goods, products, Ext. Assist in submitting all merchandise invoices to the controller in a timely manner Assist in merchandizing to include folding and stocking golf shop and assisting in inventory counts when needed. Oversee the operations of a well-managed practice facility. Assist with player services and the pace of play when on duty. Enforce all the facility rules and regulations governing the use of the golf course, golf cars, and other golf facilities. Assist with promoting all club golf activities. Performs range maintenance such as: presenting practice facility with practice balls, bag stands, and maintains ball inventory over the course of the day. Assist with overall sales and customer relations/experience by maintaining weekly shop shifts. Provide golf instruction & golfer development programs in conjunction with Golf Academy.

Job Specifications:

Education and Experience:

Essential:

Associate’s Degree or higher education from an accredited university or college High school diploma or equivalent; and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a valid Driver’s License. 1 year minimum of supervisor/manger experience desired. Active PGA Member or PGA Associate is Required.

Associate's Degree or higher education from an accredited university or college

Skills and Knowledge:

Essential:

Excellent leadership and motivational skills. Extensive knowledge of golf. Excellent communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Flexible schedule must be able to work 7 days a week and work early morning and late nights. Must be able to traverse various athletic grounds and facilities. Prolonged periods of standing or walking. Must be able to lift 40 pounds at a time.
