Assistant General Manager

At Builder's FirstSource, the Assistant General Manager will support management in achieving successful operations at a location with production, sales, customer service, inventory management, delivery, human resources, safety and administrative activities. Primary responsibilities include:

Assumes location responsibility in the absence of the General Manager.  Keeps manager informed on status of initiatives, issues, schedules that impact the success of the location. Provides direction to the team to ensure accomplishment of location objectives and goals.  Assists General Manager in recruiting, hiring, promoting, training and terminating employees. Assists in preparation of the location budget preparation, operating costs, and annual reporting of the operation. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in business or related field and four-years (4) related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and work experience.   Competencies: Knowledge of building materials products, competitors' products, and product standards. Ability to compose business reports and budgets. Ability to execute plans/projects through others. Good interpersonal and influencing skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and an enterprise planning (ERP) program.

The work environment is in an office setting and generally sedentary but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. May be required to occasionally lift, carry, push, pull objects up to 25 pounds.  The site is a lumber yard.
