Assistant General Counsel, Employment

The Assistant General Counsel, Employment Law provides employment law advice and counsel globally. The position reports to IQVIA’s Senior Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer. The position will be based ideally in the U.S. Eastern time zone near one of IQVIA's locations in 
Durham, NC, King of Prussia, PA, Parsippany, NJ or Boston, MA, in which case it may be a hybrid role; a remote role will be considered. 

RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of the Assistant General Counsel, Employment Law include:

Work closely with Human Resources, the business and other company functions to support execution of the business strategy in a practical and compliant manner; serve as a senior legal advisor providing advice on range of employment law mattersAdvise management and Human Resources as to all employment law issues, including hiring, onboarding, leaves of absence and accommodations, performance management, discrimination, harassment, reorganizations, employment policy development and implementation, wage and hour issues, worker classifications and other employee relations mattersCoordinate with IQVIA functions such as the Ethics and Compliance Office, Human Resources, Legal, Finance and Internal Audit, conduct and provide counsel regarding employment-related investigations, ensuring that claims are addressed promptly, thoroughly and appropriatelyDraft agreements, including severance and separation agreementsReview, assess and enforce restrictive covenant agreementsProvide counsel regarding works council and labor mattersRepresent IQVIA, working with outside counsel as appropriate, with respect to employment related disputes, including negotiation, mediation and litigationSupport continuous improvement of Human Resources and employment law-related tools, process and procedure Conduct due diligence of employment-related aspects of mergers, acquisitions and divestituresand support related integration effortsDraft and/or review documents, including correspondence with opposing counsel, EEO position statements, mediation statements and settlement/separation agreementsMonitor federal, state, and local legal developments and advise on compliance with sameCreate and deliver management and employee training programs as neededAssist with responses to subpoenas, personnel file requests and similar requestsConduct legal research and analysis of complex legal issuesEngage in Legal Department and Employment Law Group project-related work

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

JD, bar admission and minimum of seven years of combined firm and in-house employment law experienceExcellent judgment Keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyStrong organizational, planning, project management, communication, presentation and influencing skillsSelf-starter with a strong work ethic, high-level of professionalism, and team-oriented approachAbility to build and maintain collaborative and effective relationships across all levels of a large, complex organizationAbility to approach and solve complex legal scenarios in a thoughtful, creative, and analytical fashionAbility to explain complex legal concepts to business partners, provide practical advice, build consensus, and collaborate with clients to address business needs in a fast-paced environmentStrong business acumen and pragmatismKnowledge of life sciences and outsource services fields preferredWillingness to travel on occasion and to meet in person as needed

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $174,400.00 - $323,800.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
