Job Description
Minimum requirements:
Namibian Citizenship;Grade 12;Studying towards a relevant diploma or degree in Accounting or Finance2 - 3 years' experience in an accounting environment, preferably Pension Fund AccountingComputer LiterateExcellent proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint).Must have a strong accounting background.Must be analytical, attentive to detail, a self-starter and can work under pressure.Must be a team player and be able to work independently.Duties and responsibilities include:
Allocation of investment on disbursements for investment clients.Monitoring and allocation of inflows and outflows on the Pension Fund bank accounts, including investigating any unidentified movements.Prepare monthly investment statements of investment clients.Prepare payments to various third party clients as per agreed SLA.Prepare monthly PAYE recon for payments and submission of stamp duty to Receiver of Renvenue.Preparing monthly investment recons in accordance with accounting requirements.Prepareing reports and payments for submission to NAMFISA.Preparing cash flow reports on al schemes and monthly bank reconciliations.Preparing montly reconsiliations an follow up on reconciling items.Prepare reconciliations for year-end audit purposes.Can easily adapt to a differen working environment and should be a quick learner.Perform professional accounting work, including compilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial data. The role requires an understanding of accounting fundamentals and principles, as well as experience in bookkeeping. Responsibilities may include any or all of the following: ledgers and preparation of journal entries, fixed asset or inventory accounting, preparation of trial balance or financial statements, cost accounting, bank account reconciliation.ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management and ControlTrack progress against budgets within established finance systems, and report variances to more senior colleagues.
Data Collection and AnalysisProduce accurate reports for others by collecting data from a variety of standard sources and inputting it into standard formats.
Data ManagementHelp others get the most out of data management systems by providing support and advice.
Insights and ReportingExtract and combine data to generate standard reports.
Document PreparationPrepare moderately complex documents using a variety of applications for technology devices, such as standard office software. Also responsible for gathering and summarizing data for reports.
Information and Business AdviceResolve complex queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on policies and/or procedures, referring the most complex issues to others.
Financial Policies, Guidelines, and ProtocolsAssist with the development and delivery of financial policies, guidelines, and protocols to ensure the company complies with regulations and good financial practice.
Operational ComplianceDevelop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards. Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedure.
Personal Capability BuildingDevelop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching. Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
